Port in Porto Cervo

The town of Porto Cervo is centred around the port and marina, which is quite extensive but only contains quite small boats in the main harbour area, with larger boats on the outside area of the marina.

You will probably start your visit with a walk around the harbour, which is surrounded by low hills that are largely covered with small villas and apartments.

The remainder of the town centre includes a shopping area which is nicely maintained and includes some upmarket shops and a reasonable selection of cafes and restaurants.

Although there is not a great deal to see in the centre, it has a charming atmosphere and you will want to spend some time here, preferably including lunch in one of the restaurants!

Beaches of Porto Cervo

Although Porto Cervo is not primarily a beach resort, there is a small and attractive beach a short walk north of the port area, with pretty views in all directions, called the Spiaggia del Giglio. At the beach there are signs warning visitors about the currents in the water, so it is probably not suitable for small children.

A larger beach (although still quite small), called Spiaggia Cala Granu, is situated about two kilometres north of the town centre: about 30 minutes walk, or there is a car park, from where it is about a five minute walk to the beach. This beach also has lovely views and is surrounded by rocky coastline.

Attractions nearby

On the coast to the west of Porto Cervo you will find several small towns, for example Baia Sardinia and Polto Quato, that are quite small but pleasant to explore when you are visiting this area of Sardinia.
